The Conference website and submission page are online.

Already 3 papers have been submitted.

Track chairs and TPC members are named. There are 10 tracks and roughly 10 TPC members/track.

The Call for Papers has been largely distributed by e-mail, also printed copies have been brought at various conferences.

The pile of printed copies on display at DATE'17 is rapidly lowering, showing that people are taking the Call.

4 levels of company sponsorship are presented, with increasing benefits.

A surplus of $10,000 is planned on the budget, assuming a sponsorship of $70,000.

If that sponsorship is not obtained, there will be a reduction of expenses on the awards and on the gala dinner.

In the discussion that follows, it is felt that the requested money for sponsorship is too high, and the foreseen amount of sponsorship is too optimistic.

Companies to be asked for sponsorship should be local or regional.

In comparison, Fatih recalls the numbers for VLSI-SoC in Istanbul: 190 attendees, total budget: $150,000, total sponsorship: $30,000.

Sponsors should be offered more than visibility, which they feel they already have. For instance, they could have a session with students, or a special session in the conference.

The organizing committee is requested to evaluate the budget for different number of attendees.

There is still work to be done on invited speakers.

It is felt by group members that some invited speakers should be regional, to give a regional visibility of scientists and industry leaders.

Abe proposes to have a new workshop on Photonic SoCs on Thursday October 26, 2017, organized in cooperation with VLSI-SoC 2017.

A reduced fee would be offered to VLSI-SoC attendees to register to the workshop.

How many people would register to the workshop only? No one had a clue.

This is a first time experiment, with the hope that the workshop could become a conference of its own.

A budget of around $10,000 would be needed for space and lunch for 80 people.
