Short Information

- Status of FDL 2014 by Dominique Borrione

FDL 2014 has been postponed to October 14-16, 2014 and will be in Munich, Germany.

General Chair: Frank Oppenheimer, OFFIS.  Program Chair: Julio Medina, Univ. de Cantabria

Colocated and organized in cooperation with DVCon Europe (DVCon is industry oriented, and comes to Europe for the first time)

-  Status of SBCCI 2015 in Salvador de Bahia by Ricardo Reis

The paperwork for IFIP approval is done. Ricardo distributes Call for Papers during the meeting. Copies of the Call for Papers are made available to VLSI-SOC attendees.

Future venues:

SBCCI 2016: Belo Horizonte

SBCCI 2017: possibly in Bordeaux, France, but decision pending.

IFIP/IEEE VLSI-SOC Application procedure and selection process

by Salvador Mir

The rules of procedures have been distributed and amended.

The current version is approved unanimously.

Salvador will distribute the document again, and it is available on the WG web site here.

Status of preparation of VLSI-SoC 2015 by Kiyoung Choi

     (see attached slides)

Information on slides is not repeated here.

Daejeon is 2 hours by express train from the international airport.

It is the center of a technological area.

VLSI-SOC will take place in the convention center, which has been reserved for the IFIP World Congress. 30 K$ in the budget will be paid to IFIP for the rooms. The Grand Ball Room, too big for VLSI-SoC, will not be used.

It is clarified that IFIP provides the 6500 to support the travel expenses of PhD students from developing countries (list of countries from IFIP). So this is in addition to the budget, not part of it. But the budget can add more support to PhD students if money is available.

The printed Call for Papers is distributed to the participants, and to VLSI-SOC attendees.

It will be distributed also to ICCAD, ICCD, DATE, and other events that WG members attend.

Available lists for e-mail distribution of the CFP:

-       Salvador Mir has a list of all participants since 2005

-      Don Bouldin

-       European Test Symposium

Ricardo will send again the template of the CFP to Kiyoung Choi.

After the meeting: Kiyoung Choi revised the attendance, and registration fees, for VLSI-SOC 2015; on the basis of the attendance of VLSI-SOC 2014, he is considering a more conservative break-even number.

Application of Tallinn for VLSI-SoC 2016 by Jaan Raik

See attached slides.

The proposal is approved unanimously

Proposals for the organization of VLSI-SoC 2017
